Are you a manufacturer of industrial batteries that are used with measurement and control technology, or those used in automation technology, security systems or professional video technology? GRS Automation is the practical solution for all batteries which are exclusively intended for industrial, commercial or agricultural purposes and are not used for vehicle propulsion or regenerative energy storage. We take care of the nationwide take-back and fulfil all other obligations arising from the German Battery Act (BattG). Our GRS safety standard ensures that your lithium batteries, regardless of their condition and size, are transported safely and in compliance with the law and are sent for proper recycling. To this end, we equip your sales and service point network with our container systems together with information relevant to the legal regulations of the hazardous goods law (ADR, Accord relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route) and their implementation. On behalf of battery manufacturers or their authorised representatives we undertake their registration with the regulatory authority.
Our Service
On behalf of manufacturers or their authorised representatives, we offer distributors and primary treatment facilities for old electrical equipment a reasonable and charge-free possibility to take back their batteries. As part of our industry solutions and on request of our customers, we supply collection containers and ensure that all batteries collected by the collection points are properly recycled.

Distributors are obliged to take back spent batteries from end users. For the cost-free take-back of batteries in or around the immediate vicinity of the retail outlet, we supply collection containers to distributors as part of our industry solutions or at customer's request, and collect filled containers for recycling.

We guarantee that collected and identifiable waste batteries are treated and recycled using state of the art techniques, ensuring prescribed recycling efficiencies are achieved or exceeded.

Upon request, we prepare an annual performance review for timely submission to the Federal Environment Agency. Reported metrics include the mass of batteries we have taken back and recycled on behalf of our customers, the collection and recycling rate as well as the qualitative and quantitative recycling and disposal results.
